How slaughter by proxy works
For those who want the slaughter handled on site: the process, delivery options and timing, step by step.
For buyers who cannot attend the slaughter themselves, or who would rather leave it to us, we offer slaughter by proxy. Because we are asked about it often, here is the process from start to finish.
1. Choosing the animal
You order by selecting a weight band on the site. Live weight is given as a range because no two animals are identical; the weight recorded at handover is what counts. After the order we call you to confirm the animal and the day.
2. Giving authorisation
Authorisation can be given verbally; a confirmation by phone is enough. Ticking the “slaughter by proxy” box during checkout also keeps a record on our side. The authorisation permits the slaughter to be carried out on your behalf; the intention and the responsibility remain yours.
3. The slaughter
Slaughtering begins after the morning prayer on the first day of the holiday and follows the order in which bookings were made. When your turn comes, the slaughter takes place. If you wish, we will notify you at that moment.
4. Butchering and delivery
After slaughter the meat is rested, then butchered. We offer three options:
- Delivery to your address — packed and shipped under cold chain.
- Collection from the farm — you come at an agreed time.
- Donation — all or part of the meat distributed to those in need.
You can state your choice at checkout or by phone before the slaughter.
About timing
The holiday week is busy and our capacity is limited. The earlier an order is placed, the more comfortably the slaughter order and the delivery time can be planned. For requests that come in on the last day we may not be able to offer flexibility on the delivery time.
Our livestock products can be bought through the basket; call us with any questions.
